I used this video with my students today to practice for the TOEFL, and (to make it more interactive) we practiced making conditionals WITHOUT if by using Subject verb inversions.
It worked really well. The students worked in teams, and at the end the team with the most right answers won.
I stopped at 2:48 as after that they get a bit too long and slightly more complicated.
For example:
If that were a movie I would go see it.
turns into
Were that a movie I would go see it.
and
If I were to ask
Leslie Winkle out it would just be for dinner.
turns into
Were I to ask Leslie Winkle out it would just be for dinner.
This is a great video ... I have just embedded in my post about the second conditional. You can see it here http://eslvietnamzone.com/base-form-conditional/
ReplyDeleteAwesome summary of the rules there Dan. The video was a great find. I am glad someone took the time to put it together.
